Japanese Inspired Desserts
Hailing from the sun-kissed shores of California and growing up in the heart of Michigan, Chef Jessica Vazquez has found her culinary sanctuary in the vibrant streets of Chicago for the past ten years. Her culinary journey has centered around Momotaro, a modern-Japanese gem nestled in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, where she’s passionately created innovative desserts for the last four years.

At Momotaro, Chef Jessica has embarked on an exciting quest to redefine what extraordinary desserts can be. She’s expanded her flavor palette, unveiling the art of crafting unforgettable sweet creations that captivate the senses. A recent trip to Japan breathed fresh life into her desserts, inspiring her to infuse Japanese ingredients and flavors into beloved classics. From candied apples with a tantalizing twist to a lighter take on sugary indulgences, her creations offer a delightful, nostalgic spin.

Her creativity finds roots in the loving bonds of friends and family, the enchanting stories within her cherished books, and the ever-changing seasons of the Midwest, influencing her flavor combinations and dessert presentations. When she’s not busy developing new recipes, Chef Jessica can be found exploring Chicago’s culinary gems or sharing moments of joy with her loyal companion, Pinto, the Australian Cattle Dog.
