Ingredients for Tofu with Tamarind Sauce:
- 1/3 cup The Perfect Purée of Napa Valley Tamarind Puree, thawed
- 14oz extra firm tofu cubed
- 2 cloves of garlic brunoise
- ½ cup onion brunoise
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 50 ml canola oil
- ½ teaspoon ginger brunoise
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- cilantro
- sesame seeds
- salt
Method for Tofu with Tamarind Sauce:
- Mix tofu with garlic and oil, add to a plastic container overnight.
- In a pan, fry tofu until it is golden on sides. Then fry onion and add Tamarind puree, let it reduce, add sugar, tofu, ginger, sesame oil and soy. When it looks caramelized, remove from heat and serve.
- Serve with basmati rice and cilantro on top.
