Flavored Vanilla Buttercream

Enough to frost approximately 48 cupcakes

1/4 cup thawed The Perfect Purée of choice
8 oz. unsalted butter (1 stick)
12 oz. vegetable shortening
1 tsp. vanilla or other flavor extract
1/2 tsp. salt
36 oz. powdered sugar/confectioner’s sugar
Method:
1. Add butter and vegetable shortening to a stand mixer with a paddle attachment. Cream until smooth.
2. Add purée, vanilla and salt and cream again until smooth.
3. With mixer on low speed, add powdered sugar gradually and beat until smooth after each addition.
